Kirlin Guitar Cables Entry Model
Today I received two Kirlin Guitar Cables. They also threw in a couple patch cables with the 10ft and 20ft cable that I bought.
I first found Kirlin Cable (here’s a link to their Amazon Store) when I was looking for a guitar with a right angle end to use with my Epiphone Prophecy Flying V.
I came across this one when browsing Amazon:
I was happy with the cable. But, I only have the one V shaped guitar. I also have a few Strats. However, I don’t like the right angle end in the output on the Strats or the input on my recording interface (Focusrite Scarlett Solo).
So, I decided I’d get a couple more that are straight on both ends.
The color I went with was “Black” according to Kirlin. But as you can see in the photo it’s woven with silver and black.
Each cable comes with a velcro cable organizer connected. This makes it easy to wind up and store the cables neatly.
The difference between the Entry and the Premium are the ends. On the Premium the plugs are gold plated. Also the metal sheath is about 5/8″ longer than the Entry.
Both feel very good. However the Premium ends feel sturdier than the Entry ends. I think it is more to do with the difference in length. The Entry ends feel solid. They simply have less to grasp than the Premium.
Shorts?
As yet I haven’t had any shorts with the Premium cable. I’d have to say, “So far, so good.”
Durability is something that only time will tell.
In my case I am only using the cables at home in my studio. So, they aren’t taking a lot of abuse.
I’ll have to follow up in a year and see how they hold up. The cables come with a 1 year warranty so hopefully they’ll pass the test.
